Let customers speak for us
from 254 reviewsVery welcoming, friendly, helpful, knowledgable staff! Thankyou! We are lucky to have the Wool on the Exe in Exeter!

Zing needles are very easy to use, they have a lovely smooth finish and come in beautiful bright colours.

This yarn is so beautiful and so soft! It’s yarn dyed by Debbie, the owner of Wool on the Exe, and is much longer than the usual 100g skein with a length of 460 metres. It has a range of gorgeous greens, my favourite colour!

A really great workshop to challenge yourself with a new technique. The small number of participants means that this is an informal session that allows for one to one support on unfamiliar concepts. I found Debbie’s instruction really clear and supportive - having tried online tutorials several times with no success - and got more than expected done in the time, I would really recommend this to anyone wanting to learn entrelac.

Perfect wool for the item I needed it for!

Very soothing and meditative
Learnt to crochet after 1 session and will get a pattern to follow next time

Comes in great colour combinations, great for socks - loved by little ones and big ones!

Jackie is a delight to work with - nothing fazes her, she is so knowledgeable about knitting (also crochet etc.) and will find solutions to problems very swiftly even though she has no idea what is going to appear in front of her! Not only problem solving but tips and tricks. Jackie is a highly valued member of the Wool On The Exe team and, of course, the fee goes to charity.

Wool on the Exe provide a one stop shop for quality yarns and accessories for all your knitting and wool craft projects.
The Zing brand needles are great quality, I like the colour coding for the sizing, I’m slowly building up the full range.

I buy these buttons all the time. I knit a lot of baby jumpers and often purchase these to finish off the project. They are the perfect colour and size to compliment most colours of yarn!

These caught my eye because of the colours that seem to be in them - at first they look greyish but there seems to be an element of green there as well. Very versatile. I’m doing the Book Bag workshop & picked them
Out to use in that project - I’ve selected the yarn on the basis of the buttons! The wrong way round I know but …… I’m excited to see what happens when the two are combined.

I bought two lots of the turtle bay colourway. Am spinning it to ply as a two ply yarn. Delighted with the way the colours are working out.

A lovely set that has made sock knitting even more enjoyable for me. The needles appear to be lightweight but strong, and the colours are beautiful. The only possible drawback is if you're visually impaired, you may struggle to see your stitches if you're using dark coloured yarn, due to the dark multicoloured pattern of the needles.

Fabulous selection of colours in this special wool from the Shetland islands. Always help in choosing what colour works with what I’ve already got
