Come join us and learn this popular craft! You will be provided with a hook and yarn, and over the two, 2 hour sessions, will be taught the chain stitch, the slip stitch, double crochet stitch, half treble crochet stitch, treble crochet stitch, and double treble crochet stitch.
There will be plenty of time to practice and get hands-on instruction.
The daytime workshops are led by Sam Linney

About our workshops
Our workshops are designed to be a place where you can relax, learn, and have fun! They are held at our large table at the back of the shop and are limited to 5 participants. If a workshop is full, you can ask to be put on the waiting list.
If you need to cancel your booking, we require 3 full business days to issue you a refund. After that, we will only be able to offer a refund if someone else takes your place. Also, don't forget to put your workshop in your diary! We don't have a reminder system, and are sad when folks miss a booking.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Sam for her brilliant instructions, patience and humour on the learn to crochet sessions over the past 2 weeks.
I have learned a lot and am now excited to join some of the next steps classes. Especially interested in the possible introduction to amigurumi sessions.
I loved this two part course. I genuinely was a beginner with only some basic knitting experience. I had bought a book on How to crochet but having spoken to a couple of friends decided it would be better to do the course first - right decision!! The small group enabled our lovely tutor, Sam, to establish our experience, teach some skills to the whole group and then support us in working at our own pace. Sam's patience, warmth, knowledge and positivity meant that we all left the course feeling a sense of achievement. She had lots of tricks up her sleeve and could sort out all the rooky errors and never lost patience even when several of us were making the same mistake again and again!! The two session format gave time for embedding skills and working out what you found tricky with no Sam beside you to help out. I found the second session invaluable for this as well as the new skills we learnt. The course left you with the skills you needed to really get going on your own but wasn't overwhelming. It was a lovely supportive group, drinks and biscuits a bonus; although you could tell how engrossed were were as I don't think anyone touched a biscuit the first week and there isn't much that will keep me from an illicit chocolate biscuit!

I have just completed two 2 hour sessions with Sam and have come away full of confidence and optimistic about what I can achieve. I have been a knitter for 60 years so this was a different experience. Sam is talented, knowledgeable and very patient. She is a credit to Wool on the Exe. I will be back for more workshops.

Really great workshop. Just what I needed as an absolute beginner. Sam is a very talented, knowledgeable and patient tutor. Wool on the Exe is a lovely yarn shop and Sam created a relaxed and fun learning environment.
