Smooth

Whilst on a course with you, I commented that my Zings get sticky especially in this heat. She recommended these needles as she had never had a problem. I am so glad I took her advice, they are so smooth and no problems where the cord joins the needle bit.

Smooth and easy to use

These were bought as a spare set of circular needles to leave in the car with a hat project. Lovely smooth needles - may have to add a few more of these to my collection!

Dream needles

Every time I start a new project that needs a needle in a size I haven't got, I get one of these, I keep them in one of Shirley's beautiful needle wallets that are sold in the shop and to my delight my collection is growing! Knowing I always have a Symphonie to turn to when I need a different size needle makes me so happy! Like Rachel, the stamped numbers that tell you the size of the needle do rub off quite quickly, but the shop sells needle guages, I keep one in my needle wallet and it is no faff at all to just measure the needles when I need to. Unlike Rachel, I don't have a problem with the stitches slipping across the metal connector from the cable to the needle. I actually find these needles help me get a relaxed but neat tension when I'm knitting because the amount of glide-but-grippyness is in a sweet spot. I love them!

Great needles

Bought these in 3mm with a 100cm cable to knit a hat with using magic loop. I have been using Zing metal circulars and wanted to try wooden needles to see how they compare. A couple of problems I have with the metal needles don't occur with the Symphonies - these are grippy enough that I'm not worried about the stitches slipping off in error, but also smooth enough that the stitches move easily along the needle. This also means that I don't grip the needle as tightly and my hands don't hurt when using these for a period of time. Today I have done a lot of knitting with these and my hands feel fine!

They are really pretty which adds to the experience of using them, and the cable does sit nicely while I'm working around my magic loop. Sometimes my stitches have trouble going across the metal connector between the needle and the cable, but I suspect this is due to my tension rather than an issue with the needles themselves. And I have found that the numbers are rubbing off quickly - but if you have one of those handy measuring thingies or plan on keeping these in the packaging when you're not using them (as I plan to), then I don't think that's much of a problem.

I've also used these with both dark and light wool and as long as the lighting is ok (same with metal needles) then it's all good! :)
