This excellent book starts with 4 basic patterns, two cuff down and two toe up, with alternatives for making the heel and finishing the cuff. It then moves on to more challenging projects, including cable, lace, Fair Isle and mosaic. All the stitches are explained with written instructions and illustrations. There is plenty of information about choosing your yarn, blocking, and even how to put on your socks to maximise their lifespan.
I only started crocheting two weeks ago, but am enjoying this tremendously and on my way to becoming a crochet sock addict!
