High-quality merino wool from South Africa meets Yak!
Merino Yak has a very special mélange effect, created by the natural brown color of undyed yak fibers. Yak wool has particularly fine fibers for enjoyable, soft wearing comfort and it is also very warm but also lightweight. It looks particularly attractive in small Fair Isle and plait patterns.
This yarn will make gorgeous socks, shawls and garments! And because of it's polyamide content, it's machine washable at 30 degrees.
- 58% Merino, 28% Polymide, 14% Yak
- 100 gram ball
- 400 metres/437 yards
- Suggested needle size is 2 to 3 mm.
- Tension: 30 stitches and 42 rows = 10 cm

I’m knitting a cardigan with this. It knits easy and smooth and feels very soft. Am very happy with my purchase and the way it is working out. Love the subtle colour changes.
Oh I love this yarn! The yardage is great, it is so easy and comfortable to knit with, the colours are gorgeous - what’s not to like?!?! I will continue to buy more of this yarn in different colours as the colours compliment each other so well.
This is a really beautiful yarn to work with - it's gloriously soft and drapey. I made a top down triangle shawl with it which blocked so well, great stitch definition too. Not at all "splitty" even when using very pointed lace needles. Lovely soft colours. As you can tell I am a fan!
Thank you Jo - your shawl is gorgeous!
I have just knitted two pairs of socks with this yarn. Beautiful to knit with and good stitch definition too. One pair was a gift for other half. He told me next day that he was wearing them and that they felt lovely to wear, really lovely! Which I think is subtle speak for I’d like some more in this yarn please! Yes it is expensive but no more than some other sock yarns I have bought and it is good quality. Will be buying some more of this.
Very soft and squishy. Smooth to knit with and gives lovely stitch definition. The colours are beautiful ‘grown up’ colours. I’ve just ordered some more to knit another shawl with. At first I though it was expensive but with 400 meters you get a lot of quality yarn.
