Using chunky cotton yarn and a short wooden dowel you will produce a small, simple, macrame wall hanging. You will learn the basic knots i.e. larks head, square knot and double half hitch over a filler cord. After completing the main part of the hanging you will be able to complete it using whichever knots you wish.
All materials will be supplied for this workshop, however if you have a lovely little branch (about 10 -12 inches long) please feel free to bring it along.
This is for beginners however dexterity in both hands will be required.
This workshop is led by Jackie Millichap.

About our workshops
Our workshops are designed to be a place where you can relax, learn, and have fun! They are held at our large table at the back of the shop and are limited to 5 participants. If a workshop is full, you can ask to be put on the waiting list.
If you need to cancel your booking, we require 3 full business days to issue you a refund. After that, we will only be able to offer a refund if someone else takes your place. Also, don't forget to put your workshop in your diary! We don't have a reminder system, and are sad when folks miss a booking.
I've long been interested in learning how to do macrame and this workshop was a great way to learn the basics and get started. Tutor Jackie soon set us off on a small practise piece to give us some confidence before embarking on the main exercise of the morning and I think we were all suprised at how quickly our projects started to grow. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning and came away confident that I will be able to get cracking and explore the wide range of uses for this lovely craft.
