Made from 55% Bluefaced Leicester and 45% Silk with a generous 800 metres per 100 grams, this yarn is hand dyed in shimmering complimentary tones, making it perfect for giving special lace projects a ‘wow’ factor.
The combination of Bluefaced Leicester wool gives the yarn structure while the silk provides a beautiful sheen and makes the colours glow wonderfully. The blend of both fibres makes the yarn strong enough to be blocked well and show off lace patterns to their best advantage.

The moment I picked this yarn from the shop's display I was struck by the vibrant colour, which was gleaming in the sunlight. I have started a lace shawl with this yarn in Peacock colourway and have another project in mind for Deep Forrest. So far in my current project I have found this yarn very easy to work with, starting from winding the hank into a cake all the way to swatching a test knit. I unraveled the swatch to cast on the actual shawl and the yarn showed no signs of suffering ill effects from the test. I recommend using this yarn for lace projects as stitch definition is wonderful and will highlight the intricate work.
Thank you for your review Sari! We can't wait to see your finished shawl
This is a beautiful yarn that is strong and very tolerant of a bit of unpicking. I’ve used it for three lace shawls, having not done any knitting for some years and found it very easy to work with. It blocks easily and the silk gives it a beautiful soft sheen. It’s a delight to wear, very soft and drapes well.
