Last year's photo competition was so inspiring, we loved seeing everyone's treasured socks. So we hope you're ready for another photo competition because this time we'd like to see everyone's shawls! Knitted, crocheted, or perhaps even woven!
Shawls give the opportunity for so much beauty and creativity. They can be made in fine wool or alpaca, delicate silk, cool cotton, chunky acrylic, or fluffy mohair! In a riot of colours or elegant in one subtle shade. Covered in cables or with panels of lace. Triangular, rectangular, asymmetric, or round. With tassels or beads, maybe even embroidered! Shawls are always practical, but even the simplest ones are wearable artworks.
To join in please show us your favourite shawl, or a collection of shawls that you have made. We would love to hear any stories or shawl making tips alongside the photos that you share. We will keep the competition open until the end of the month and pick a random winner on Saturday 1st August. The prize is one hand dyed skein from the shop. The choice is yours!
